Fired Heaters
Uniquip has been involved since 1959 in the design and supply of fired heaters.
Installations handling feeds ranging from natural gas to crude oil
to bitumen, and from air to steam, have been supplied.
Left: This group of three heaters was used on hot oil service
(260 degreesC.) on an offshore platform. The units were gas fired
with forced draught burners, and fully packaged with all instrumentation.
Uniquip has aimed to meet the requirements
of the "quality" market
in the petroleum refining, petrochemical and metallurgical industries
where the highest standards of design and fabrication are demanded.
Uniquip has had
many years experience in heat transfer liquid systems, and offers
designs of complete systems, including waste heat recovery
with oil or other liquids.
In Particular, the following features are built into Uniquip fired
heaters:
- Burners are selected for correct flame pattern, stable operation
and maximum turndown.
- Adequate clearance between flame and tube coil to avoid flame
impingement.
- Vertical cylindrical or horizontal box type designs.
- Natural or
forced draught burners for oil, gas, or dual-fuel operation.
- High quality refractory of brick, castable or ceramic fibre.
- Variety
of design options to achieve the highest economic efficiency.
- Extensive experience in single burner forced draught operation
with full automatic or semi-automatic control.
The Fired Heater is a unique design
employed by Uniquip using a
Brown Fintube firetube element.
Fired heater products include Horizontal hot oil
heaters and Incinerators (below), Hot oil heaters, FCC Fired heater,
and Steam Superheater.
This FCC fired
heater (left) was supplied to an Australian refinery,
and has a design efficiency up to 84%, depending on the fuel.
It
is fitted with dual fuel natural draught burners with noise
attenuation, sootblowers, and Schedule 80 alloy tubing in both
radiant and convection
zones, with all welds fully radiographed.
Uniquip have a non-exclusive Engineering Services agreement
with ABB Lummus Heat Transfer BV, the Netherlands for providing thermal
design and specialised support for a range of Fired heaters and Waste
recovery Units such as Hot Oil Heaters, Process Gas Heaters, Stabiliser
Reboilers, Vacuum Heaters, Crude heaters, etc.
This agreement also allows
Uniquip to offer Fired Heaters revamps, upgrades, new convection
sections etc.
